Beating all the odds the Los Altos girls’ soccer team successfully made it to CIF. The girls faced St. Lucy’s on February 15in the first round of the playoffs.
After a very difficult and physical game, the game ended in a lost 1-0 loss, thus concluding the 2012 season.
According to Chelsea White, junior, aside from injuries, the hardest obstacles during CIF was the weather and the field. The weather was obviously a major problem because they had to play in the rain. White, said, “I believe if we would have had a better field it would have made a huge difference.” Sarah Becerra, junior, also believes the field was a big problem, “Besides the rain, the condition of our field was very difficult for both teams to play in.” However, the girls gave it their best and kept a positive attitude throughout the entire game.
When asked if they were satisfied with the results of the season, Becerra answered, “I wasn’t expecting to win CIF with all the injuries that took place. But I do think we could have made it at least to the second round of CIF.”
After facing tough obstacles, the Los Altos girls’ soccer team was able to qualify for CIF. We are proud of our Lady Conquerors!
